Dropping the first atomic bomb

On August 6, 1945, a B-29 aircraft dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan. Hiroshima was bombed by a single B-29 bomber, the Enola Gay, which flew out of the Pacific Island of Tinian, under the command of Col. Paul Tibbetts.
