Swearing in new citizens

Judge Michael Lambert Igoe served as a Representative from Illinois and as a U.S. attorney before being appointed U.S. district judge for northern Illinois on March 4, 1939. Shown in his Chicago courtroom on October 13, 1939, he administers the oath of allegiance to these new citizens.
