A Knik family

Knik Chief Nikaly and his family of the Athabascan Dena’ina tribe pose next to a tent near Anchorage, Alaska, in 1918 for photographer H.G. Kaiser. Located on Cook Inlet and linked to Nome by the Iditarod trail, Knik was a mining and homesteading center.
