The White House on-line

10/20/1994

On October 20, 1994, the Clinton administration unveiled the first White House web site—Welcome to the White House: An Interactive Citizens' Handbook. Internet users could search for information about the First Family, links to executive branch departments and agencies, and messages from the President and Vice President. The site was revised five times between 1994 and 2001.
