"…and everybody froze"
In this eyewitness statement, three radio telephone operators describe how Staff Sergeant Clifford Sims saved the lives of all the soldiers in the area. Sims was fatally wounded when he threw himself on an exploding booby trap outside of Hue, South Vietnam, on February 21, 1968. SSG Sims was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor.
