Revolutionary War Sgt. Colin McLachlan of New Jersey served six years in the Canadian Regiment during the battles of Hanover (NJ), Staten Island, Brandywine, Germantown, and Yorktown. Between 1818 and 1831 he received a pension of $8 a month. This illustrated family record recording Colin’s marriage to Elizabeth was filed as part of his widow’s pension claim. In 1853 she was awarded $120 a year.
