These students were photographed at the He-Dog Day School in 1940. The school, a consolidated day school located in Parmelee, on the Rosebud Indian Reservation in South Dakota, opened in 1935 with 7 classrooms and 172 students. This photograph is part of a series documenting Indian schools, reservations, hospitals, and farms.
