Interned in Alaska
For the duration of World War II, the Federal Government removed hundreds of Aleuts from their homes for their own protection. This passenger list from the United States Attack Transport Delarof records natives of St. Paul Island, in the Pribilof Islands chain, bound for an abandoned cannery at Funter Bay, Alaska. Conditions at Funter Bay and other camps were primitive and dozens lost their lives.
