Cliff Palace

This is a May 1972 photograph of Cliff Palace, the largest ruin in Mesa Verde National Park, Colorado. Mesa Verde was home to the Ancestral Pueblo people who lived there for more than 700 years. Recent studies reveal that Cliff Palace contained 150 rooms and 23 kivas and had a population of approximately 100 people.
